This is a guide to drinking well during festival week, January 21 to 31, 2027. For dates, tickets and venues, the week guide has the logistics; this page is about where the glass comes from.

The after-screening problem

All eleven screening venues are in Boulder, and an evening film lets out close to when a lot of rooms stop pouring. So the useful question is not “where is good” but “where is good and still open”, and the answer changes by day of the week.

One thing already in our favour if you are based north: Longmont is a quick run up the Diagonal from the venues, and RTD’s BOLT bus covers it until roughly 1:25am on weekdays, so a nightcap does not have to mean a designated driver.

What is actually programmed

Küper Wine Bar on Main Street in Longmont is the only business that has so far published dated festival-week plans of its own — tastings, a morning wine and wellness session, a sparkling-wine morning, an evening with the Longmont Symphony, and an artisan market. Beer and spirits

Longmont has a dozen-plus breweries and several distilleries and tasting rooms, and Boulder has its own dense scene. The guide picks out the rooms worth your evening.

If you are not drinking

A late screening schedule and a week of tastings is a lot, and plenty of people want somewhere good to sit that is not a bar. We keep a zero-proof group in the guide for exactly that, held to the same standard as everything else — somewhere we would actually send you, with hours we have checked.

Before you set out

The hours in our guide are each business’s published normal hours, checked on the date shown. Festival week will not run like a normal January, so ring ahead for last call — and book where a room takes bookings.
